Nionex and UC4 Embark on Strategic Partnership
Gütersloh, Wolfsgraben (Austria); 29 March 2007 – Nionex GmbH, a subsidiary of the DirectGroup
Bertelsmann, and UC4 Software have decided to collaborate in the future. Together with UC4:global,
UC4 Software is one of the technology leaders in the area of computer centre automation.
The automation of processes is gaining increasing importance in the IT field. In order to
cater to the increasing complexity, a large proportion of IT processes have to automated to free
them from manual procedures. The number of platforms and applications UC4:global supports, as well
as its usability, makes it an ideal application for this challenge.
“Cutting costs and boosting efficiency are the most important challenges companies are faced
with today,” says Franz Beranek, CEO of UC4 Software. “Our software plays an important role here by
noticeably reducing the complexity of heterogeneous infrastructures. The cross-platform,
cross-application control of all implemented systems through one single solution considerably eases
the operation of a computer centre. Ultimately, our technology ensures that more capacities can be
made available again for the actual core business.”
The partnership between the two companies resulted from a project they are currently
collaborating on for Club Bertelsmann, where the IT service provider Nionex is integrating the
UC4:global solution. Optimising cost effectiveness is a key concern here. Production control
through automation is also being significantly optimised, and resources are being better utilised.
All together, 7,500 processes are being adapted to the new system.
“With UC4:global, we’ve added a professional, well thought out tool for enterprise job
scheduling to our portfolio. With this, IT can be dependably controlled beyond the scope of system
and company boundaries,” says Horst Gosewehr, CEO of Nionex GmbH. “In such, we’ve supplemented our
core competencies that span e-commerce and relationship management solutions. We want to show other
companies that information technology can tangibly contribute to their corporate success.”
